Beer-Braised Bratwurst

Beer-Braised Brats with a side of more beer? That's a good day.

We use natural casings for all of our sausages, so warming them slowly in braising liquid, or on the grill off of the direct heat, helps prevent splitting. For this recipe we used a Pale Ale from one of our our favorite local breweries, Yazoo Brewing Company, to impart some extra flavor in our already delicious links.

Beer-Braised Bratwurst

Ingredients

1 lb Bratwurst Links

6-Pack of Your Favorite Beer (there's no shame in using something cheap)

Yellow Mustard

Sauerkraut

Directions

Pour 4 beers into a large stockpot over high heat, and bring to boil.

Step 2

Add Bratwursts and lower to a simmer.

Step 3

While your brats are cooking, heat a large skillet over high heat.

Step 4

Once your Bratwursts float, removed them from the beer and sear in both sides in the hot pan until golden brown.

Step 5

Serve on toasted buns, topped with mustard and sauerkraut.

Step 6
