Porter Road | American Raised

American From Pasture to Plate.

Small American farms. Our own USDA-inspected facility in Kentucky. Porter Road butchers. One connected journey to your door.

From Pasture to Plate

There's a Whole Story Behind Your Meat.

Where was the animal raised? How was it raised? What happened after it left the farm? Who processed the meat? Who butchered it? Where was it packaged?

We believe knowing where your meat comes from means knowing more than the name of a place on a package.

That's why we've built Porter Road to stay connected to more of the process.

We work directly with small American farms, process and butcher the meat at our own facility in Kentucky, dry-age our beef, cut our meat by hand, and send it directly to customers across the country.

From pasture to plate, we know what happens to our meat because we're part of what happens to it.

The Porter Road Way

Follow Your Meat Home.

A lot happens between an American pasture and your plate. We stay connected along the way.

Supporting American Farms

Buying American Meat Should Support American Farmers.

When you buy Porter Road, your purchase starts with a network of small American farms.

We source directly from small, family-owned and operated farms in the United States and build long-term relationships with the people raising the animals.

These aren't anonymous suppliers at the other end of a purchasing system. They're farmers we know and work with.

There's an American Farmer at the Beginning of Every Cut.

Learn About Our Farmers

American Raised

Where It's Raised Matters. How It's Raised Matters, Too.

Being raised in America is only part of the Porter Road story.

Our animals are raised outside on pasture. Not in concentrated animal feeding operations.

Our cattle can graze throughout their lives, with supplemental feed available while they remain on pasture.

We work with farmers who meet the animal husbandry and environmental standards we've built Porter Road around.

No added hormones. No antibiotics.

American Raised. Pasture Raised.

After the Pasture

The Farm Is Where Our Connection Starts. Not Where It Ends.

Knowing where an animal was raised is important.

But a lot happens between the farm and the butcher case.

That's why Porter Road operates its own USDA-inspected processing and butchery facility in Princeton, Kentucky.

Our team stays involved through processing, aging, butchery, packaging and labeling.

Rather than buying finished meat and simply putting the Porter Road name on it, we stay connected to the work behind it.

From the Farm to Our Facility.

The Butcher Block

Cut by People Who Know Meat.

At Porter Road, butchery isn't something that happens somewhere else.

Our meat is hand-cut by skilled butchers at our Kentucky facility.

Our beef is dry-aged to develop the deeper, more concentrated beef flavor we're looking for, then cut by people who understand the animal and the meat they're working with.

The American farm gives us something worth working with. What we do next matters, too.

USDA | Product of USA

"Product of USA" Should Mean Something.

The USDA's new voluntary "Product of USA" standard gives consumers greater clarity about what an American origin claim actually means.

Under the standard, eligible meat bearing the claim must come from animals born, raised, slaughtered and processed in the United States.

That's the kind of transparency we believe matters.

Better For Butchery. The USDA-inspected Kentucky facility behind Porter Road. Became the first business in Kentucky to qualify for the new "Product of USA" label.

The milestone was announced alongside USDA officials at the Kentucky State Fair.

Born Here. Raised Here. Processed Here.

Now there's a USDA standard behind those words.

Built in Kentucky

American Farms Need American Infrastructure.

Raising great animals is only the beginning.

To get that meat onto someone's table, farmers also need access to USDA-inspected processing, butchery, packaging, cold storage and distribution.

For small independent farms, building all of that themselves simply isn't realistic.

That's why the infrastructure behind Porter Road matters.

Our USDA-inspected facility in Princeton, Kentucky brings processing, butchery, packaging, cold storage and fulfillment together.

It gives Porter Road. And the independent farms we work with. A more direct path from pasture to consumer.

We're not just buying from American farms. We're helping build the infrastructure that connects them to American customers.

Meet One of Our Farmers

Keeping the Farmer's Name on the Meat.

Rittenberry Farms has supplied animals to Porter Road for more than a decade.

Now, the infrastructure behind Porter Road is helping the Rittenberry family take the next step.

Through Better For Butchery, their animals can be processed at our USDA-inspected Kentucky facility and packaged and labeled under the Rittenberry Farms name. Allowing the family to build and sell a meat brand of its own.

At the same time, their relationship with Porter Road connects their farm with customers across the country.

The farmer doesn't have to disappear somewhere in the supply chain. That's the point.

Why Porter Road

Know What Your Purchase Supports.

Choosing American-raised meat isn't only about where the animal lived. It's about the people, practices and infrastructure behind it. When you choose Porter Road, you're choosing meat that:

  • Comes directly from small American farms.
  • Comes from animals raised outside on pasture.
  • Is processed at our USDA-inspected facility in Kentucky.
  • Is dry-aged and hand-cut by skilled butchers.
  • Supports infrastructure designed to connect independent American producers with consumers.

And because we're connected to more of the process, we can tell you more about what happened before your Porter Road box reached your door.

Porter Road Quality

Support the Farmer. Get Damn Good Meat.

We don't work with small American farms because it gives us a good story to tell.

We do it because great meat starts with how the animal was raised.

Pasture-raised animals. No added hormones. No antibiotics. Beef dry-aged for deeper, more concentrated flavor. Meat hand-cut by skilled butchers at our Kentucky facility.

Supporting American farms and pursuing exceptional meat aren't two different missions. For Porter Road, they're the same one.
